Eureka Springs School of the Arts

Zoom Workshop FAQ’s

Why take a Zoom workshop with Eureka Springs School of the Arts?

ESSA’s Zoom workshops are taught by the same professional artists we invite to teach on our campus. We are keeping our classes small and interactive. If you are missing the studio experience and seeing your friends, come give one of our workshops a try!

I have never used Zoom before. . .

Downloading Zoom onto your computer is fairly easy and we are ready to assist you should you encounter any issues. An ESSA staff member is always online during workshops to assist or answer any questions you may have.

What’s the Zoom Workshop Cancellation Policy?

There are no refunds for Zoom workshops, but we will issue a credit for a future workshop that is good for up to a year. A transfer fee of $25 payable at the time of transfer.

What if I miss all or part of my workshop?

Participants will receive access to a recording within 24 hours of each workshop session. You can use the recording to review and fill in any information you may have missed during the live session.

Who has access to the Zoom recordings?

ESSA’s online workshop recordings are ONLY available to the students who participated in the workshop, the workshop instructor, and ESSA staff.

How long will I have access to the Zoom recordings?

Participants will have access to the Zoom recordings for two weeks after the last class session. Students are welcome to download the video to their own computer for lifetime access.

When/ where will I receive the Zoom call information?

Participants will receive the Zoom call information the day before each class session. In the email there will be a link that directs you to the class. We will open up the room 15 minutes early to give you time to get settled in.

I can’t make all of the workshop sessions.  Can I purchase the workshop and just watch the recording later?

ESSA’s online workshops are designed with real-time interaction in mind.  Class sizes are kept small to provide space for individual, personalized attention and feedback from our instructors.  Though you will have access to a recording of your online workshop in case you unexpectedly miss a session (life happens!), workshop spaces are intended for those who plan to attend all sessions of their workshop in real-time.

What do I need to attend an online ESSA workshop?

You will need a laptop or tablet equipped with a video camera and microphone, as well as a steady internet connection.  Arrange the lighting in your working space so that your instructor can see you and your work well enough to provide feedback throughout your workshop and/or ensure that you can send images of your work to your instructor if requested.
