Eureka Springs School of the Arts CoFounder Doug Stowe, and ESSA featured in Popular Woodworking Magazine
We are excited to announce that The Eureka Springs School of the Arts and ESSA CoFounder Doug Stowe were featured in this month’s issue of Popular Woodworking Magazine!
Doug Stowe was a guest author for the June issue, in which he gave a tutorial spanning 8 pages on how to build a beautiful and sturdy Coopered Leg Hall Table constructed from Ash lumber. Step-by-step instructions including photos and a template for the pieces were included, with the pictures for the article and the table’s construction all taken at ESSA. In the article, Doug relays his wisdom on the ethical sourcing of wood for projects and his reasoning behind the steps taken; in a familiar and wise way that anyone who has taken a workshop or read a book from Doug Stowe would recognize.
ESSA also was featured with a three-page article, touting Eureka Springs as a beautiful getaway that’s hard not to fall in love with. The ESSA campus and studios were highlighted as well, with an emphasis on the Windgate Iron and Wood Studio (this is a Woodworking magazine, after all)! The article ends with a plea: take a class at a Craft School like ESSA. Bring your family, make a vacation of it, and check out the workshops offered on our website (essa-art.org/workshops).
We are honored to be featured in June’s issue of Popular Woodworking magazine and implore you to head to their website (link below) or your favorite digital magazine website to purchase your own copy. In the meantime, we will leave with you a quote from the article itself:
“…But, in my opinion, the real hidden gem here is ESSA – the Eureka Springs School of the Arts.”
