A Transformational Investment in ESSA’s Future
Thanks to the generosity of supporters near and far, the Eureka Springs School of the Arts has successfully completed the first phase of a capital campaign for campus expansion. This important milestone strengthens ESSA’s ability to serve artists, students, and the community for generations to come.
A Successful Capital Campaign
In 2024, ESSA launched an $850,000 campaign to purchase property adjacent to its existing campus. This effort represented the first phase of a larger multi-million-dollar initiative designed to support the long-term growth of the organization.
Through the generosity of foundations, corporations, and individual donors, ESSA successfully secured the land needed to guide the future development of its campus.
A Community Effort
Support for the campaign came from donors in Eureka Springs, across Arkansas, and throughout the country including significant support from the Windgate Foundation. This broad investment reflects ESSA’s importance as both a local cultural institution and a nationally recognized destination for art and craft education.
Improving Access and Safety
Securing the adjacent property allows ESSA to improve the safety and accessibility of the campus. The first project will be the development of a new entrance designed to improve visibility, traffic flow, and visitor safety.
Improved signage and better connectivity between the new property and the existing campus will also make the campus easier to navigate.
Preparing for Future Growth
The completion of phase one of a broader campaign lays the groundwork for future phases of expansion that will strengthen ESSA’s role as a center for art and craft education.
Future plans include:
- New teaching studios
- Artist-in-residence spaces
- Community gathering areas
- Expanded facilities to support growing programs
A Strong Foundation
Since 1998, ESSA has grown into a 50-acre campus with seven teaching studios and more than 100 workshops each year. Students travel from across the region and the country to learn from skilled artists and instructors.
The capital campaign ensures that ESSA can continue to inspire creativity and expand opportunities for future generations.
