Artist in Residence Open House
Saturday, November 21st, 2026 | 4 – 5:30 PM
Spend a leisurely afternoon exploring the studios at Eureka Springs School of the Arts during our Artist in Residence Open House!
Meet ESSA’s Fall 2026 Artists in Residence, Suzanne DesMarais and Wilson Whitlock, and see the artwork they’ve been creating during their two-week residency. Take your time visiting the studios, chat with the artists about their work and creative processes, and enjoy refreshments along the way.
Original artwork will also be available to purchase directly from the artists, giving visitors an opportunity to take home something special while supporting their creative work.
This event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public. No registration is required!
About the Artists
Suzanne DesMarais is a painter whose work captures the character and atmosphere of a place through color, light, and observation. With longstanding connections to Arkansas and Eureka Springs, Suzanne draws inspiration from landscapes, architecture, and everyday scenes.
Wilson Whitlock is an Arkansas-rooted painter whose colorful, surreal compositions transform familiar spaces and objects through exaggerated perspectives and imaginative details. His work explores the strange, humorous, and sometimes unsettling qualities of everyday life.
Both artists are participating in ESSA’s 2026 Fall Artists’ Sojourn, a two-week residency dedicated to artistic exploration and creative development.
