The Fine Art of Collage (Online Workshop)

In this interactive online workshop, participants will explore the fine art of collage. This will be an experimental and expressive experience where each student will utilize color, pattern, and visual storytelling to create a unique, personal, and dynamic collage. Participants will experiment with multiple materials and media.
With plenty of feedback along the way and time between classes to gather materials, this class will focus on magazines, paper, personal photos, or other imagery from home, fabric, and embellishments. We will refer to Dada and Surrealist artwork for inspiration.
You will need a steady internet connection, a free Zoom account, and a computer with an enabled camera and microphone.
Supplies: Scissors, glue stick, ruler, one large piece of poster board, magazines, personal photographs

Aaron (Fayetteville, AR) is a collage artist and visual arts teacher. She teaches art and design at The New School in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Aaron is passionate about sharing the therapeutic and meditative states that collaging can bring to the mind and soul. In her own words, "I like to create detailed and inviting worlds that I would want to step into. I work in both the analog and digital realm, but creating collages by hand and using vintage ephemera truly fills my heart with joy.”
