All baskets are made from white oak trees that the instructor selects, harvests and prepares by hand using homemade tools made and used by his father in the Ozark tradition. All aspects of how a tree is turned into a pliable, flexible wood for weaving will be discussed. Leave each class with finished, traditional Ozark style handmade basket(s) that should last a lifetime.
Make a small Williamsburg basket. It will be woven over a mold and everyone should finish in class leaving with a beautiful Ozark style white oak basket. This basket has an 8″ x 8″ square bottom with a 12″ round top and is approximately 8.5″ deep excluding the oak handle.
