Gourd stitch, commonly called (incorrectly) peyote stitch is the most popular bead stitch in the U. S. today. First used by the Kiowa and Comanche Native American tribes, it has spread across the U.S. with the popularity of beading. It covers simple objects (such as gourds) beautifully, works well when creating jewelry, and is not difficult to learn. We will begin by learning to cover a simple object. A selection of beads is provided with tuition.
