Landscape Pastel Painting

You will learn about the different types of pastels, pastel strokes, papers, mark making, and some of the history of this medium. Your instructor will do demos on subjects such as reflections, trees, and creating cloudscapes and provide insight on framing pastel paintings. Students must be 18 or older to participate.

Book Recommendation(s): A book on learning to work with soft pastels would be useful for someone with no background or even some background in pastels, including pastel artists such as Elizabeth Mowry and Maggie Price.

About Instructors

Barbara Iglehart

Barbara Iglehart (Garfield, AR) earned her BA in Fine Arts from Arkansas Tech University. She has experience teaching for Batesville Arts Counsel, UACCB, Kids Collegiate UACCB, Bentonville Community Center, and Hobby Lobby. She currently teaches Pastel classes at the Wellness Center in Rogers, Arkansas.
