Beginning Oil Painting (Online Workshop)

This interactive online class will cover the fundamentals of oil painting. You will learn about the different materials available to you, how to mix colors and the application of paint to canvas.
Concepts such as value, composition, and brush strokes will be discussed, all while doing assigned exercises together with plenty of feedback from your instructor. You will be taken step-by-step through the process of a painting from beginning to end. You will have a choice to use either traditional oil paints or water-soluble. Be sure to see the materials list.
You will need a steady internet connection, a free Zoom account, and a computer or an iPad/tablet with an enabled camera and microphone.

About Instructor
Vic Mastis
Vic Mastis (Branson, MO) has been a professional artist for over 35 years. Former owner of Green Door Art Gallery in Webster Groves, MO, she has taught art for numerous years. In 1998, Vic founded the Gateway Pastel Artists, a pastel society in St. Louis, MO. She is a signature member of Arkansas Pastel Society, a member of Missouri Valley Impressionist Society, Best of Missouri Hands, and more. Her work has been in magazines, galleries, and museums.
