​​Dive​ ​into​ ​bladesmithing​ ​by​ ​forging​ ​your​ ​own​ ​knife.​ ​​ ​Use​ ​a​ ​hammer​ ​and​ ​anvil​ ​to​ ​forge​ ​a​ ​medium sized​ ​full​ ​tang​ ​knife​ ​from​ ​carbon​ ​steel​ ​and​ ​learn​ ​the​ ​basics​ ​of​ ​heat​ ​treating​ ​with​ ​a​ ​forge.​ ​​ ​Finish your​ ​project​ ​by​ ​grinding​ ​the​ ​blade​ ​and​ ​adding​ ​a​ ​handle​ ​to​ ​your​ ​knife.

Allen Newberry
Allen​ ​(Lowell,​ ​AR)​ ​is​ ​a​ ​Journeyman​ ​Smith​ ​with​ ​the​ ​American​ ​Bladesmith​ ​Society​ ​and Arkansas’s​ ​first​ ​Forged​ ​in​ ​Fire​ ​Champion.​ ​​ ​He​ ​enjoys​ ​working​ ​with​ ​steel​ ​to​ ​create​ ​pieces​ ​that​ ​are aesthetically​ ​pleasing​ ​yet​ ​are​ ​quite​ ​functional.
